Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Treadmill Workout, operated by Mykola Androsovych, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine ("we", "our", or "the app"), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Treadmill Workout is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any treadmill manufacturer, fitness equipment brand, or subscription fitness service. See our Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Profile data: body weight and height, entered voluntarily for calorie calculations. This data is stored locally on your device.
- Workout data: workout configurations, segment settings, and workout history. This data is stored locally on your device; if you sign in, a backup copy is synced to the cloud (see Data Storage and Security below).
- Account information: if you choose to sign in, we collect your email address to enable data synchronization across devices.
Information collected automatically:
- Device identifier: we collect a hardware device identifier (Android ID on Android; Vendor Identifier on iOS) to manage your free trial period and prevent abuse. This identifier is stored in our cloud database (Firebase Firestore). If you sign in with an account, it is deleted immediately as your data is transferred to your account. If you never sign in, it is automatically deleted 60 days after your last app launch. It is used solely for trial management and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.
- Anonymous authentication token: on first launch, the app automatically creates an anonymous Firebase account (no email or password required) to securely access the cloud database. This anonymous account is linked to your real account if you choose to sign in, and is automatically deleted after 60 days of inactivity.
- Advertising data: our free version displays ads through Google AdMob, which may collect advertising identifiers, device information, and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics data: we use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app (e.g., screens visited, feature usage). This data is collected in aggregate and associated with an anonymous device identifier.
- Purchase data: in-app purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Purchase status is used solely to determine your subscription tier.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide workout tracking, calorie estimation, and training features
- To synchronize your data across devices when you sign in
- To manage your subscription and trial status (Trial, Free, or Pro), including preventing trial period abuse across reinstalls
- To display advertisements in the free version
- To improve the app through anonymous usage analytics
- To send transactional emails (e.g., account verification, password reset) when you create an account — we do not send marketing or promotional emails
3. Advertising and Remarketing
The free version of Treadmill Workout displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your advertising identifier and device information to serve personalized ads based on your interests, including cross-app remarketing. You can opt out of personalized ads:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads
We do not use any other remarketing or retargeting services. Upgrade to Pro to remove all ads entirely.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your profile and workout data are stored locally on your device by default. If you sign in with an account, your data may be synchronized to our servers (Firebase/Firestore) for cross-device access. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
Data retention. Your full workout history always remains on your device until you delete it. When you sign in, a backup copy is synced to our cloud (Firebase/Firestore) for cross-device access and is retained according to your plan: about 60 days on the free tier; for the duration of your subscription plus a short grace period for subscribers; and for as long as you actively use the app for lifetime purchasers. To minimise stored data, the cloud backup is automatically removed after about a year of inactivity — your on-device history is unaffected and is restored to the cloud when you return. You can delete your data at any time in the app, or request full account deletion by contacting us.
5. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services that may collect data:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements (Google Privacy Policy)
- Firebase Analytics — for anonymous usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit — for processing in-app purchases
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore — for anonymous authentication (automatic, no sign-in required) and account login and data synchronization (if you choose to sign in). Anonymous sessions are used solely to securely access trial period data stored per device.
- RevenueCat — for managing in-app subscription status (RevenueCat Privacy Policy)
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:
- With advertising partners (Google AdMob) as described above, in the free version only
- With analytics providers (Firebase Analytics) using anonymized, aggregate data
- When required by law or legal process
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Opt out of personalized ads: adjust your ad preferences in your device settings (see Section 3)
- Delete your data: you can delete your profile and workout history from within the app settings. If you have an account, you can request full account deletion by contacting us
- Remove ads: upgrade to Pro to remove all advertisements
- Access or export your data: your workout history can be exported as JSON from within the app
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers and devices offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. The app does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no industry-standard way to interpret them for mobile applications. You can limit tracking via your device's advertising settings as described in Section 3.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know: you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: you may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: you may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: we do not sell your personal information. We share advertising identifiers with Google AdMob for personalized ads; you can opt out within the app under your profile via "Manage ad consent", or via your device settings (Section 3).
- Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email in Section 13.
10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legal basis for processing: we process your data based on your consent (analytics, personalized ads), contractual necessity (account sync, subscription management), and legitimate interests (app security, improvement, and trial period management to prevent abuse).
- Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to restrict or object to processing: object to or limit certain types of processing.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint: you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data transfers: if your data is synchronized to our servers, it may be processed in the United States. We rely on Google's standard contractual clauses and Firebase's data processing terms for such transfers.
To exercise your GDPR rights, contact us at the email in Section 13.
11. Children's Privacy
Treadmill Workout is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
